An interview with Andrew Kyriakou, Director Permanent Division at NP Group. Andrew has recently joined NP Group to manage the European expansion of the Groups Permanent Technology Division.

Tell us about your career journey so far?
I’ve worked in recruitment since 2005 mainly in the Permanent sector with a European focus. I have managed and built multiple sales teams covering various tech stacks across different organisations.

My role as a Director at NP Group is to manage and grow a Specialist Technology Permanent Division to service our customers across the DevOps space in the UK and Europe. 

Managing people and growing teams is something I am truly passionate about, and I am pleased to continue this at NP Group after being given the opportunity to grow their permanent Technology Division.

Why did you join NP Group?
NP Group has a great a plan for the future & huge ambitions which are in alignment with my own personal career goals. The management team all share the same views and I’m very excited about the future of NP Group and my involvement to help achieve these exciting growth plans.

There’s also an element of entrepreneurship at NP Group which really attracted me to the company. Everyone is allowed to freedom to express themselves and work autonomously to achieve their own goals, and given whatever tools they need to help their clients and candidates.

What gives you job satisfaction?
Creating goals and making plans to achieve those goals! Plus enjoying the journey along the way.

Also seeing other people achieve their own goals. Nothing makes me happier or prouder than seeing my team succeed and knowing I’ve helped them along the way.

How you help clients & candidates?
Ultimately, my job is to help solve pain points for clients – listening is a key part of a good recruitment consultants’ role and I like to look at the bigger picture and understand an organisations culture. This approach helps us find the best talent in the market for our clients, from both a skill and culture perspective. 

Having a more consultative approach will always help to create more opportunities to help grow our own business plus build that all-important trust with our clients and candidates.

What do you do outside of work?
As a family man, outside of work I spend as much time as possible with my wife and kids. We do a lot together and I’m trying to get in as much time with them as possible before they all grow up and start avoiding me!
